Sunday night, Paris Hilton, a woman known for her love of the media and the paparazzi, managed to sneak practically undetected into the Los Angeles County Jail where she will be serving her 23 day sentence.

Monday morning on “The View,” Barbara Walters revealed how the heiress avoided a media circus and snuck into the Lynwood detention center. Walters said she spoke to Paris and her mother Kathy Hilton last night and they informed her of their plans.

“I talked to her mother and I talked to Paris,” Barbara said. “She went to the MTV Awards and then she stayed a while and then she left. Everyone thought she was gonna go to parties (but) she went to her grandfather’s house.”

Walters said Paris snuck out the back gate of the home while her sister Nicky Hilton helped divert the media by wearing a blonde wig.

“She was taken to an underground tunnel,” Walters added.

Paris confided in Walters that she expects the jail sentence to affect her deeply.

“She said, ‘My life will change. This is the first time in my life I will be alone. I think I’m supposed to be there. I think there’s a reason and I will face the consequences,’ ” Walters recounted.

“She was driving drunk,” Joy Behar chimed in. “That’s the reason.”

Walters added Paris has already planned a workout routine in jail, which will include jumping jacks and sit-ups.
