Jesse Corona came to News 3 in March 2007. You can see him reporting on the 4, 5, and 6 evening news Monday - Friday. He says if he had to call anyplace home before Las Vegas it would have to be Houston, Texas.

Jesse got started in broadcasting in 1995. He spent nearly six years in the United States Navy as a reporter and photographer for the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service (AFRTS). During that time, he spent two years overseas in Rota, Spain, covering military news from the "Gateway to the Mediterranean." He got out of the service after winning the "Public Affairs Officer of the Year" award for the entire Navy for his time at Navy Recruiting District Houston. He was the youngest person to ever win that award.

Jesse then got his degree from the University of Houston and went to work as photographer/editor for Houston's KTRK. He went back in front of the camera as a reporter at News24 Houston, then spent two years in New Mexico as the Four Corners Bureau Chief for KOAT.

Jesse says what he loves most about his new adopted home of Las Vegas is the sheer variety of news. He says while he loves the confrontational stories and asking the tough questions, he also enjoys doing "gold-coin" stories that touch people. Jesse says he firmly believes that journalism is the 4th estate and that a reporter's role is to be as impartial as possible.

Physical fitness is important for Jesse, and you can often catch him running and hiking with his four-legged, hairy, adopted daughter Kyra. Kyra is a Doberman, but don't tell her that.
