This season is all about showing off your arm with latest sleeve — from the fan to the bell to the gathered cap and the bubble. The trick, however, is to look stylish without looking like you’re about to take flight.

Fashion expert Stacy London has all the info you need to make the perfect choice when it comes to this fall trend:

Fan sleeves for work
Stacy says: Fan sleeves on a coat for the most part stop short of the wrist, which makes a woman look overgrown, especially is she is tall. Putting a light full-length sleeve underneath will compensate for that, and she will not look bigger than she is.

Short blouse sleeves for weekend
Stacy says: Knitwear with short, blousey sleeves tends to create bulk. You have to be careful with this look because you don't want to create too much bulk. This balances a natural curvy figure and accentuates a hot rack.

Jeans: Pepe Jeans London, $68
Shoes: Zac Posen, at DSW $299

Bell sleeves for work

Stacy says: Bell sleeves come in long sleeves with pleating and rucheing with a bell shape at the bottom of the sleeve. This is good for any body type. Sheer, light fabrics tailored close to the arm is more flattering. Go for tailored, not tight!

Blouse: Reiss, $210

Gathered cap sleeves for weekend
Stacy says: Create balance with the gathered sleeve and scoop neck. Also, we have created more of a waistline, making the shoulder look wider and the waist more narrow.

Skirt: H&M, $19.90
Shoes: Banana Republic, $198

Bubble sleeve for evening
Stacy says: The bubble sleeve gives a major impact to evening wear. Never go too long with it, or too short on the sleeves. If the sleeves were too short, it would look like the jacket was not her size. This is a classic look that you can wear for years; it’s worth spending the extra money because it will take you through many different seasons, not just fall.
