It's Halloween, and the costumes are ready, the jack-o’-lanterns carved. But what will you serve when the kids come home with their friends looking for some post-trick-or-treating merriment? Food Network hostess Ingrid Hoffmann offers three quick and “creepy” dessert recipes to satisfy the hungriest ghouls and goblins.
Serves 4 to 6
INGREDIENTS
Place the pound cake in a shallow baking dish. With a fork, punch some holes in the cake.
In a medium saucepan, mix the three milks (condensed, evaporated and whipping cream) and heat over low heat. When the milk mixture is hot, remove it from the stove.
Pour the milk mixture slowly over the cake, being sure to hit all the holes. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes. When chilled, top with the Cool Whip to cover the cake. Make tombstones using the icing on the oval-shaped cookies. Then sprinkle with the crushed cookies and decorate with the gummy bugs.
