A rep for Osmond released the following statement to Access Hollywood on her behalf:

“My son Michael is an amazing young man, shown through his courage in facing his issues. As his mother, I couldn’t be more proud of him. The press and public have always been kind and gracious in the past and I know they will continue to respect our privacy during this time.”

Osmond’s brother, Jimmy, also confirmed the news to Access Hollywood.

Jimmy told Access that his nephew Michael is a “sweet little boy,” who is “suffering from some issues.” Jimmy further noted that when one has a family as large as the Osmonds, “you’re going to deal with every issue on the planet.”

No word yet on why 16-year-old Michael has entered rehab or which facility he is in.

Osmond survived the latest round of cuts on Tuesday night’s “Dancing With the Stars.”

Her father, George, died on Nov. 6 at the age of 90.
