The deal
With Valentine’s Day on the horizon, it’s time to consider a romantic getaway to give your relationship that little extra kick. We’ve scoured the globe for topmost spots to rekindle the love and found properties almost guaranteed to do so. Choose between the pink-sand beaches of the Bahamas to the wilderness of Wisconsin and the scenic Scottish countryside.

The Cove, Eleuthera, Bahamas
You may not think of the Bahamas as the most secluded spot for rekindling the romance but head to one of its Out Islands and you’ll be re-enamored in no time. The place to stay is The Cove at Eleuthera, an intimate property where pink-sand bliss comes hand in hand with stylish lodgings. Fodor’s writes, “30 secluded acres set the tone for this relaxing seaside inn.” The 26 bungalows, rooms and suites come with four-star perks aplenty; the hilltop swimming pool affords awesome views of the sea; while the stellar resto serves gourmet cuisine. Rates start at $235/night.

Canoe Bay, Wis.
Wisconsin may not come to mind when picking a romantic escape but we found just the right reason to go. In the northwest of this Midwestern state is a top-rated spot for couples in search of seclusion and romance — Canoe Bay, a 280-acre country estate with three spring-fed lakes. The rooms and cottages here, claims Travel + Leisure, “have all the necessities to thaw out chilly spots in a relationship: fireplaces, down comforters, and whirlpool tubs, plus lake-view decks (in case things get a little too hot).” The food is superb as is the wine list and the massages offered on the premises. Rates start at $325/night.

Kinnaird Estate, Scotland
If you’d like a little royal treatment, we suggest a sojourn at Kinnaird Estate in Scotland. Comprised of an 18th-century mansion and a string of charming cottages, this 7000-acre estate offers plenty of romance ops — whether you want a holistic massage at The Retreat spa or savor fine foods and wines at the elegant restaurant.

Frommer’s writes, “This is, quite simply, Scotland's finest hotel. This place is so special that you'll find a bedside decanter of "Highland Heater," a wonderful elixir of whisky (of course), fresh herbs, and spices.” Nightly rates start at €220/$324, with breakfast, dinner and taxes included.
