Former NHL player and coach Eddie Olczyk is the lead game analyst for the NHL on NBC.  Olczyk works alongside Mike “Doc” Emrick (play-by-play), “Inside the Glass” reporter Pierre McGuire and with studio analyst Mike Milbury.

“Eddie is a tremendous communicator and utilizes his playing and coaching experience as a broadcaster in a way that serves both the hardcore hockey fan, as well as the casual fan,” said Sam Flood, NBC's NHL producer.

Olczyk played 16 seasons in the NHL, winning a Stanley Cup with the New York Rangers in 1994. Following his playing career, Olczyk began his career as a broadcaster, working on Penguins game broadcasts for Fox Sports Net Pittsburgh and calling games for ESPN, ESPN2 and NHL Radio.  He was named head coach of the Penguins in June 2003, serving until December of 2005.  Olczyk also currently serves as studio analyst for Versus’ NHL broadcasts.

Olczyk scored 342 goals and recorded 794 points in 1,031 career games with the Penguins, Chicago Blackhawks, Toronto Maple Leafs, Winnipeg Jets, New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings.  The third overall selection in the 1984 Entry Draft, he was a member of the 1984 U.S. Olympic hockey team and represented the U.S. in numerous international competitions.

Eddie and his wife Diana live in Illinois with their four children.
