TODAY takes a winter break

Matt, Meredith, Al, Ann, Natalie and Hoda pack their bags and head to snowy Vermont and sunny Florida for a special two-day broadcast adventure on Thursday, February 21, and Friday, February 22.

The trip marks the first time ever the entire "Today" anchor team has broadcast live from remote locations

NEW YORK - February 13, 2008 — Fasten your seatbelts and get ready to hit the road — the entire "Today" family is taking a winter break. Not only will Matt, Meredith, Al, Ann, Natalie and Hoda be packing their long johns and earmuffs for a winter wonderland excursion, but they are also bringing their swim trunks and sunscreen for a little fun in the sun. The two-day adventure will take the "Today" anchors to the snowcapped mountains of Vermont and the sizzling beaches of Florida. The special broadcast will air Thursday, February 21, and Friday, February 22. "Today" Takes a Winter Break marks the first time ever the entire "Today" anchor team has broadcast live from remote locations.

On Thursday, February 21, "Today" will broadcast live from the breathtaking Sugarbush Resort in Warren, Vermont. The "Today" anchors will be joined by local celebrities as they hit the slopes and explore the beautiful landscape of Sugarbush Mountain. They will try out the latest winter gadgets and snow sporting equipment while wearing the latest ski fashions, and they will also get a taste of Vermont's distinctive local cuisine, including the renowned flatbread pizza.

On Friday, February 22, "Today" hits the beach at the super-hot Loews Miami Beach Hotel. Grammy Award-winning pop singer Enrique Iglesias will turn up the heat with a special performance live on the beach. The "Today" anchors will take a ride down Miami's famed Ocean Drive, and explore the city's rich history, culture and cuisine. They will also check out the latest day-to-night Miami chic fashions.
