The Scoop
Jamie Lynn Spears’ little girl Maddie Briann Aldridge came into the world June 19, but she gets her world debut on the cover of OK! magazine this week.

Spears covered many topics in her first interview as a mom, from her first weeks of motherhood to how she and her fiancé Casey Aldridge came up with their daughter’s name.

“Maddie is a name that Casey thought of, and I really liked it,” Spears told OK! “Briann was because, a week and a half before she was born, one of Casey’s cousins, who he was really close with, passed. He was in a car accident. His name was Brian. She’s also named after my older brother, Bryan Spears. We just added another ‘N’ to it and made her Maddie Briann,” Spears told the mag.

Although Spears says she will support her daughter if she’s bitten by the show-biz bug, Spears says she has some other dreams for Maddie. “I hope she has good friends, finds a hobby that she loves and is really sure of herself and knows exactly what she wants to do. And I want to better myself, so that I can make her life better.”

Scoop on Spears' baby pics
July 9: Courtney Hazlett dishes the details behind Jamie Lynn Spears' OK! magazine cover shot with her new baby daughter, plus Bruno unleashed!
Spears’ mom Lynne has been on hand for much of her younger daughter’s pregnancy, and has been helping out since Maddie’s birth. She talked to OK! as well, and said that she thinks Jamie Lynn is going to be a very good mom. “She’s warm and nurturing. And the most fun time will be when she’s the soccer mom, the carpool mom. That was the most fun I had as a mother,” she told the magazine.

The remainder of the interview, as well pictures of Jamie Lynn, Casey and Maddie, is in the issue of OK! on stands now.

Behind Drew and Justin’s split
Drew Barrymore and Justin Long seemed so happy, so what’s behind their split? As recently as June 28, the couple was spotted kissing in an Austin, Texas, bar, yet just a little more than a week later, Barrymore confirmed their relationship had hit the skids.

A Barrymore source who spoke to Us Weekly says cold feet might have been to blame. “She wasn’t ready to get serious and wanted to focus on her career.”

Another insider told the mag, “Drew changed her tune about him recently. She felt he was immature.”

And while some of her hesitation may have stemmed from her two failed marriages (the first to bar owner Jeremy Thomas, the second to comedian Tom Green), she wasn't the only one uncertain about commitment.

“Marriage was nowhere near Justin’s mind,” says a source close to Long, who is 30.

Don’t worry, though — Us reports that even though the romance has fizzled, the couple is “still friends.”

News from Brinkley divorce trial
It might have seemed like there weren’t any unctuous facts yet to be uncovered at Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook’s divorce proceedings, but testimony on Tuesday proved otherwise. Brinkley was asked while on the stand whether she knew about Cook buying and selling cocaine, and Brinkley revealed that she found out only the week before, and if she knew then what she knew today, she might not “have gone forward with the marriage.”

Brinkley also said that she eventually learned that the arrest didn’t take place in New York City, as she thought, but “in a gay truck stop.” The trial resumes Wednesday; Brinkley and other witnesses are expected to testify.

Linda Hogan hits town with teen boyfriend
While Brooke Hogan gets her own spin-off reality show (“Brooke Knows Best”), her mother Linda appears to be living a life worthy of her own reality show. The 48-year-old soon-to-be-ex of Hulk Hogan stopped by West Palm Beach, Fla., hot spot E.R. Bradley’s with her 19-year-old beau Charley Hill, according to Life & Style. Two other teenaged boys accompanied Hogan and Hill on the June 29 visit.

“She drank wine while the boys had soda and iced tea,” Bradley’s manager, Kevin Kudlinsky, told the magazine. “None of them is old enough to drink.”

Meanwhile, Linda’s divorce with Hulk rages on. “I love her still, but I have let her go,” Hulk tells Life & Style.
