Mariah Carey might have been low-maintenance when it came to her bare-bones, last-minute Caribbean wedding to Nick Cannon, but that’s where the simplicity ends.

Carey and Cannon recently flew to London for a Nov. 6 appearance on British singing competition “The X Factor,” and the couple reportedly brought 20 pieces of luggage for the three-day trip.

“There were 15 suitcases on one trolley, and eight on another,” an onlooker at Heathrow Airport told In Touch Weekly. The luxury load, which included what appeared to be a $4,000 Louis Vuitton suitcase, was carted by handlers en route to the upscale Dorchester Hotel.

And in case you’re wondering who packed all those bags, it wasn’t Carey, and it probably wasn’t Cannon.

“There is nothing worse than packing for Mariah,” a former assistant says. “A weekend trip can be a weeklong job. Nightmare, is all I can say.”

Katie Holmes can’t escape Nicole Kidman
Katie Holmes has never had a contentious relationship with Tom Cruise’s ex-wife Nicole Kidman, but it’s hard to imagine Holmes liking the idea of having Kidman in the audience of her Broadway play “All My Sons” every night.

While Kidman isn’t physically in the audience for each performance, she is in the Chanel ad splayed across the back cover of the Playbill.

Holmes, ever the good sport, is said to not be bothered by it, according to Us Weekly. A source told the magazine, “She thinks the ads are beautiful.”

Colin Farrell's difficult decision
Colin Farrell tells the press he wrestled with whether or not to replace Heath Ledger in “The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus,” the film Ledger was filming when he died last January.

Video: Obama-mama moves on late night "It was a very difficult decision to make. When I first heard about it I totally freaked at the idea," said Farrell. "But it was important to get Heath's work out and doing what I think Heath would have wanted, which was finishing the movie to its entirety."

Farrell isn’t the only actor stepping in to take Ledger’s place: Johnny Depp and Jude Law will trade off playing his part as well, and scenes Ledger filmed will also be included.

An exit strategy for ‘Pushing Daisies’
ABC’s “Pushing Daisies” definitely seems marked for execution unless ratings magically improve. But show creator Brian Fuller says he has a plan to resurrect the series should it meet an early demise.

Slideshow: Celebrity Sightings “The idea would be to finish out the season's story arcs in comic books," Fuller said at the Paley Center for Media on Nov. 11.

He said he hoped his writing staff, most of whom were present for the "Inside the Writers' Room" panel, would be part of the project "to satisfy the fans and ourselves, to finish up the stories we'd love to tell."

Warner Bros. Television, which produces the series, is a corporate sibling to DC Comics, which would be the likely publisher, Fuller said. Interestingly, Fuller then said that doing so would “clear the slate for a movie.”

“Daisies” will wrap the final episode of its 13-episode order Nov. 13, and there’s no word yet about whether an order for nine additional episodes is coming. A rep for ABC says that a decision doesn’t have to be made until January.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T for Aretha
On Nov. 11, Rolling Stone revealed its picks for the top 100 greatest singers of the rock era. Topping the list: Aretha Franklin.

Rolling Stone is rolling out the issue (no pun intended) in a format I like: four separate covers. Franklin, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Elvis Presley will all get a cover — check back to see who sells best.

The issue hits newsstands Nov. 14.
