A day after injuring his knee and saying he was going to have to "shut it down," Rockets guard Tracy McGrady was running through practice and appeared to be fine, the Houston Chronicle reported.

McGrady canceled the MRI that was scheduled on his knee and said he was "hopeful" he would play in Wednesday's game against the Mavericks.

"Right now, tomorrow is not ruled out," McGrady told the Chronicle. "I have to talk to coach and the trainers, maybe even monitor my minutes more. I could play. We just have to come out with some sort of solution. I don't want to be out there looking the way I am right now. Me, coach, the trainers have to come up with some sort of solution."

McGrady left Monday's game in the opening minute of the second half after aggravating his left knee, which was operated on this offseason to have loose bodies removed.

Yao Ming and Ron Artest also had minor injuries in Monday's game. They did not practice Tuesday but both said they would play Wednesday night.
