Lexington police are looking for the man they say robbed a grandmother at gunpoint as she was shopping for her Thanksgiving dinner. It happened around 3:30 Thursday afternoon in the parking lot of Kroger at the corner of New Circle Road and Old Paris Rd. 68 year old Judy Parker says she had loaded the last of her grocery bags into her car when a man came up beside her and told her to hand over her keys. Parker says, " He said, give me your keys, and I said No! Then he pulled out the gun and grabbed the keys and tried to drive my car away." As the man sat inside her car, Parker says she blew her emergency whistle several times to alert nearby customers. 20 year old Kyle McIntosh heard the whistle blow and ran to help. "The man started running and I chased him with my car. I chased him all the way across New Circle Road and then pinned him up against the dumpster behind O'Reilly Auto Parts," McIntosh remembers. "He put his gun to my chest, so I hit him and then started kicking him in the face and drove away." Police say the armed man eventually woke up and took off running. He is described as a white man, roughly 5 feet, 8 inches tall, wearing black pants and a black hooded sweatshirt, armed with a handgun.
