Rosie O’Donnell loves “Dance Your Ass Off” – and she told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson she wants to join a celebrity version of the Oxygen reality show.

“[It’s] my favorite show,” she told Robinson on the set of Lifetime’s “Drop Dead Diva,” where she was filming a return guest appearance for an episode airing September 13. Her debut on “Diva” will air July 26.

“The reason I love [‘Dance’] is [because] my doctor said to me recently, ‘What is it I can do to get you to work out like an hour, two hours a day?’ I said, ‘Get me a Broadway show,’” O'Donnell said, explaining that mixing exercise with performance was her fitness incentive. “No matter what, when you do a Broadway show, you drop [weight], you’re fit and you feel good, because you have to. There’s 2,000 people in velvet seats who paid 100 bucks.”

But would she join “Dancing With the Stars?”

“Never in a million years,” O'Donnell said. “But ‘Dance Your Ass Off,’ call me for the celebrity edition. As long as I don’t have to wear spandex, ‘cause I’m not into that.”

Until then, fans can hear O'Donnell on Sirius XM radio, where she’s preparing to launch a new morning show this fall.

“I’m gonna talk about what’s going on in my life and what’s going on in pop culture, a little bit of news, a little bit of human interest,” she said.

And the often-controversial former “View” host won’t be worrying about ratings.

“The ratings are irrelevant. Just like HBO. It’s a subscription service, so you can talk about what moves you,” she said. “I’m not doing it just to be controversial, but some things I say are controversial, I suppose.”
