Police have arrested a suspect in the death of former “American Idol” contestant Alexis Cohen, who was killed over the weekend after she was struck by a car.

Police have booked Daniel Bark, 23, on charges of death by reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident in connection with Cohen’s death, Access Hollywood has confirmed.

Bark was arrested and booked at 6 p.m. on Sunday in Atlantic Highlands, N.J. He is currently being held in the Ocean County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bail.

The Asbury Park Press reported that Cohen, who gained notoriety for her foul-mouthed rants after appearing on seasons seven and eight “Idol,” was killed early Saturday in Seaside Heights, N.J. She reportedly suffered chest, head and abdominal injuries.

Bark could receive a maximum of 15 years in prison if found guilty.
