LOS ANGELES — Kate Gosselin didn’t sound too happy about estranged husband’s Jon’s gabby ways with the press on an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” set to air on Wednesday.
“Certain ones of us speak a lot, [others] of us prefer to keep out mouths shut,” Gosselin said, refusing to reference her husband directly. “I just know that on TV or off TV and I’ve been very much targeted and torn apart.”
The reality mom told DeGeneres that her kids — not jet-setting or a new job — came first for her, a likely dig at Jon’s recent trips to Las Vegas and St. Tropez.
“I’m telling you the root of my heart everything about me. I am a mother first,” Gosselin told Ellen. “I will always be a mother and I would die for my kids if need be. I would never put them in a situation that was dangerous or unsafe for them and like any mother… there is nothing I would do to put them in danger. My focus is them. It’s not the paparazzi. My focus is not what trip I can go on or what shows I can do as a result of this thing. This is my job. This is my paycheck and so this is what I do.”

Will Smith shines in 'Men in Black III'
Asked by DeGeneres if she’s thought about dating again, Gosselin said, “The thought has crossed my mind.”
“I’m not thinking about it [now],” she explained. “At some point, it’s going to be scrutinized. Let’s not talk about it.”
She also explained why she wasn’t wearing her wedding ring — and how she’ll replace it for her children.
“At some point, I talked to the kids, it came up very naturally and I said ‘I’m not going to be wearing this ring very much longer.’ They said, ‘Oh, why?’ I said, ‘Because I’m not going to be married to Daddy anymore,’ which of course hearing that I don’t think was fun for them,” she said. “I did say that… I’m looking at a ring that has eight diamonds and mother of pearl. I’m very into symbolism and I found a ring that had eight little diamonds surrounded by mother of pearl, me and the kids. They were very excited about that because it’s the symbol of me and the kids together forever.”
While Gosselin said she’s trying to ignore the paparazzi, the media attention to her has been so great that Halloween stores have stocked Kate Gosselin wigs this year — which made Kate take a second look at her much-discussed hairstyle.
“Somebody emailed that to me a bit ago saying there was going to be a Kate Gosselin wig and I thought, ‘Wow is that really what my hair looks like?’” Kate said.
