Three Central California getaways

Autumn is the time of year when Californians reclaim California for themselves. The summer tourist crowds have gone home and the snowbirds have yet to give up their nests in the East and Upper Midwest.

It's the perfect chance to get out and see the golden hills of the golden state. One of my favorite late autumn trips is to California's "golden core" – the middle of the state, north of Los Angeles and south of San Francisco.
