Jimmy Kimmel and Kelly Ripa both joked that Kate Gosselin ought to take a turn on “The Bachelorette,” and now there are fierce rumors circulating that Gosselin is working on a deal with ABC to star on a similarly styled show.

“Kate’s working on a deal to do a new reality dating series on ABC,” according to an insider who spoke to Life & Style. The magazine reports that Gosselin would “likely be starring in her own series, possibly matching her with single dads.”

A source close to the reality TV mom counters that those rumors simply are not true. “Kate has no desire to start dating right now and has no interest in a dating show,” said the source.

There’s another practical matter: Gosselin remains under contract with TLC.

Ozzy thought exercise would keep him attractive
Ozzy Osbourne has been accused of being addicted to many things in his day, but now there’s just one addiction in his life: exercise. And the habit goes all the way back to days when he was biting the heads off bats.

Video: Docs: It's a mystery why Ozzy is still alive

“After a jog, he’d drink 10 pints of beer and take drugs. But no matter how stoned out of his mind he was, he would still go on the Stairmaster,” wife Sharon told Rolling Stone in the issue on stands now.

Osbourne said he goes into exercise for its outward benefits. “I started working out because I want to be slim, young and attractive forever,” he told RS. “But it didn’t work out. I’m not slim, I’m not young, I’m not attractive.”

‘Office’ stars worried about Carell departure
Steve Carell’s announcement that he many not renew his contract after the next season of NBC’s “The Office” has the show’s cast and crew worried. (Msnbc.com is a joint venture between Microsoft and NBC Universal.) BJ Novak, who doubles as a show writer and the character Ryan, told TODAYshow.com that Carell’s contribution to the hit comedy show could not be understated.

“I think Steve Carell is the greatest actor alive,” Novak said at the 2010 Webby Awards, which he hosted. “The only way to keep the show wonderful is after he leaves — if he does leave — is to show more of everyone else. We have a lot of characters that people would like to see more of.”

Though Novak is concerned about the future, he’s focusing all his efforts on the show’s upcoming eighth season. What to expect? Novak said that Michael Scott will finally grow up as he resolves some of his issues, and Andy will play a bigger role along with fan-favorite Dwight (who “will learn the perils of power,” Novack said).

As for his own character, Novak said that the spiteful office temp will be balancing a chaotic relationship with Kelly while trying to break into the online world with his social networking tool WPH.com (pronounced “woof”).

“There’s a lot of great character moments this year,” Novak said reassuringly. “I think it’s going to be a really funny year.”

In its four seasons on the air, viewers of "Jon and Kate Plus 8" watched as Gosselin's children got older and her hair got shorter.

When Kate Gosselin debuted her signature short and spiky crop, the mother of twins and sextuplets became a beauty trendsetter. Achieved at a two-chair salon in her hometown of Wyomissing, Pennsylvania, the look both drew criticism and sparked countless imitators.

Rebranding herself as "clean-slate Kate" following her 2009 divorce, she got long, straight extensions from stylist Ted Gibson.

"She had the most iconic haircut since the Rachel and I am glad to have made her over," says Gibson. "Like most women, she loves longer hair ... Since she has had short hair for so long it just made sense that we would keep her hair more shoulder length.

For her "Dancing with the Stars" debut, Gosselin wore her hair in loose, layered spirals. "I cut the extensions shoulder length and curled with a medium sized curling iron," says Gibson. "Side-swept bangs look great on women who want a new look but not a commitment to a full bang."

According to Gosselin, there are even more changes to come. "Good enough is never good enough for me," she told People. "There are moments where I say, 'I do look good for having eight kids.' I want to drop the 'for having eight kids' part!"
