Mel Gibson’s racist rants and bad temper have been his own lethal weapon in the past, which is why reports of a tape that includes very disparaging language from a man who is said to be the actor is getting so much attention.
The tape of the rant, which has not been made public, was obtained by RadarOnline. The website reported Thursday that in it, Gibson tells his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva that “the way she was dressed would get her ‘raped by a pack of n------.”
According to the website, another tirade includes threats that Gibson would “burn the f------ house down,” among other things.
Gibson’s rep, Alan Nierob, read Radar’s report and said that he couldn’t confirm any details of the story. “I have no knowledge that any of this is credible or accurate,” he wrote in an e-mail.
Nierob also had no comment about the status of Gibson and Grigorieva’s breakup or whether the couple, who have an infant daughter, are even communicating.
‘Jersey Shore’s’ The Situation: Let him eat cake
When “Jersey Shore” standout Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino rang in his 28th birthday at New York hotspot Tenjune Tuesday night, he indulged in a little ab cake. That’s just one of the perks of being The Situation, who is in New York hawking the Nox Edge creatine tablet. But the ripped reality star is concerned about obesity in America, too.
“I believe obesity these days is at an all time high at the U.S. ... That’s not a good situation,” Sorrentino told TODAYshow.com. “So, six small meals a day. I think parents should look into their kids’ future and get them involved in sports younger, rather than their video games and their computer, which obviously is good technology but when you are younger you want to be active.”
And as “Jersey Shore” fans know, part of being active means “GTL” — or gym, tan and laundry. But don’t worry, the regimen isn’t as stringent as it sounds.
“It can really go in any order,” he said. “That’s why the GTL phrase was so popular because everybody sat back and said, ‘Hey, I actually to that too ... I just put three words together, and it became a popular national phrase that celebrities follow. That’s pretty awesome, you know.”
Yes, it is.
Those who’ve had the privilege of living in New Orleans for any period of time know that one of the city’s charms is the way celebrities can co-exist with everyone else.

Case in point: A recent choir-crashing by part-time resident Lenny Kravitz. The singer was eating outside on a terrace when he overhead the Voice of Praise Choir singing his hit “Fly Away,” and what did he do? He joined right in, and even took a turn on the drums.
Weekend box office
“Eclipse” might have fallen short of besting the first-day box office take of “New Moon,” but the $68.5 million “Eclipse” made is still a record-setter for a Wednesday opening, and it’s a darn good indicator that the film will have a banner 4th of July weekend. Expect it to outperform the other new weekend release, “The Last Airbender.” Even though “Airbender” has well-known director M. Night Shyamalan and a popular comic series behind it, the dismal reviews it's receiving will ultimately hurt the pic. Don’t expect it to take in anything close to “Eclipse,” which will be a decisive No. 1.
