Don’t expect George Clooney to give interviews to Us Weekly any time soon.

The actor and his camp are furious with the magazine and they way it spun a story regarding rumors that Clooney’s girlfriend is pregnant.

“Us Weekly called me up and said they were going with the story that Krista Allen was pregnant with George’s child, and they were on deadline,” Clooney’s rep tells The Scoop. In an effort to kill the story, Clooney, who has jousted with the press in the past, got on the phone with the reporter. “I called George, who made the effort — and he almost never does this — of getting on the phone himself and telling the magazine’s reporter Ken Baker it was completely untrue. The reporter then called me and said we’re not going with the story and I won’t keep this rumor going.”

Instead of killing the story, however, the mag ran a two-page spread, with a headline: “As rumors of a baby swirl, the hunky Hollywood star comes to Us to set the record straight.” The mag includes Clooney’s denials, but also rehashes the rumors.

A spokeswoman for Us defends the story saying, “After Ken Baker talked to George Clooney, the representation that Krista Allen was pregnant was no longer presented as fact.” She adds, “We appreciate the time that Mr. Clooney spent on the phone with us to set the record straight.”

Clooney’s rep is not mollified. He tells The Scoop, “Let’s put it this way: my Christmas card list just got one name shorter.”

McMonica's?

There’s one restaurant in Australia where you probably won’t see Bill Clinton eating.

Four entrepreneurs are planning to open a place in Darwin next month called Lewinsky’s, a theme restaurant inspired by the former White House intern.

“We’re going to go very funky and theme the restaurant around Monica,” one of the restaurateurs told Australia’s Northern Territory News. He says Lewinsky’s will sell cigars and hopes to also carry handbags designed by Monica, which are also sold on her Web site. “There are no other bars registered in her name and we think she will be quite flattered,” he says.

Lewinsky’s rep didn’t sound flattered. “I negotiate all her deals, and this is the first I’ve heard of it,” Barbara Hudson told The Scoop. “I’m not sure they’re allowed to do this, legally.” We’ll keep you posted.

Notes from all over

Eminem isn’t commenting on the latest round of accusations that he used racist language. Source magazine now is reporting that the white rapper used phrases such as “spear chuckers” and “porch monkeys” in a 1993 recording session. It’s the third time the magazine has come forward with charges like this. “We’re done responding to the Source,” Eminem’s rep tells The Scoop. “Eminem has made his statement and he addresses everything in XXL.” That issue of that mag, the Source’s main competitor, comes out later this month.  . . . Miramax and Dimension Films are denying overseas reports that their forthcoming film, “The Brothers Grimm,” has dissolved into power struggles. “Director and former Monty Python man Terry Gilliam has been involved in a titanic battle of egos with Miramax moguls Harvey and Bob Weinstein,” reports the London Evening Standard. A Dimension spokeswoman calls the article “egregiously inaccurate,” and adds: “What we’ve seen of the film we’re thrilled with. It’s a cross between ‘Lord of the Rings’ and “Princess Bride.’ We have been extremely supportive of Terry Gilliam and cannot wait to see the director’s cut.”  . .  . “Queer Eye For the Straight Guy” is releasing an official soundtrack. Among the songs: Jamelia’s “Superstar” and Ok Go’s “You’re So Damn Hot.”
