Steven Tyler doesn’t think much of Kid Rock’s slam of the Aerosmith rocker for taking a job as an “American Idol” judge.

“He’s just jealous,” Steven said in response to a question from an Access Hollywood producer at a press conference at the Los Angeles auditions for season 10 of “American Idol” on Thursday.

In fact, the superstar singer suggested that Kid Rock slammed him in an attempt to garner publicity for his own project.

“And he’s working a new record and God bless him,” Tyler added.

Earlier in the week, the blonde rocker lashed out at Tyler's new job.

“I think it’s the stupidest thing he’s ever done in his life,” Kid Rock told Entertainment Weekly. “He’s a sacred American institution of rock ‘n’ roll, and he just threw it all out the window. Just stomped on it and set it on fire.”

Kid Rock even suggested that Tyler get professional help regarding his decision to enter the world of reality TV.

“I think whoever’s advising him, we should bring back the guillotine, or whatever they call that thing,” Kid Rock told the mag. “And if it was himself, he needs some serious counseling. I love him to death, but I gotta speak the truth.”

In September, when Tyler was announced as a new judge, along with Jennifer Lopez and returning judge Randy Jackson, he called his new job a “dream come true.”
