Hope she's into Kryptonians!

Oscar-nominated "Fighter" actress Amy Adams, 36, has been cast to play Daily Planet journalist Lois Lane in Zach Snyder's "Superman" reboot, reports the L.A. Times.

"There was a big, giant search for Lois,” Snyder told paper. "It was obviously a really important role. We did a lot of auditioning but we had this meeting with Amy Adams and after that I just felt she was perfect for it."

Earlier this year "Tudors" actor Henry Cavill, 27, was cast as the man of steel for the flick expected to hit theaters in 2012.

Though Snyder, whose "Sucker Punch" took in $19 million at the box office this weekend, didn't discuss plot points of the flick, he did say that Lois will be a "linchpin" in the film.

"It goes back to what I've said about Superman and making him relevant and empathetic to today's audience," said Snyder. " That applies to Lois as well. She has to be in the same universe as him."
