Talk about a fashion emergency.
Currently touring in support of her new album "A Woman Falling Out of Love," Aretha Franklin recently paid a visit to an Indianapolis hospital, her rep tells Us Weekly. And though the Queen of Soul, 69, overcame a life-threatening illness earlier this year, the medical issue this time was minor — but still awfully painful!

While at her Dallas hotel, the Grammy winner accidentally stumbled over a pile of shoes, and her left foot landed atop the spike heel of her Jimmy Choo. Her left index toe "hurt like heck for a minute but seemed to subside," Franklin said. Several days later, Franklin got an X-ray at Community North Hospital in Indianapolis — revealing a fractured left index toe.

"I'm so grateful it wasn't my right piano peddle foot, I have a gig on July 27th at the Jones Beach Theatre in New York!" joked Franklin, whose toe and foot were wrapped after the X-ray.

One complaint: "How am I supposed to match my new Marc Jacobs gown with this wooden blue hospital shoe?"
