Lady Gaga has been accused of keeping some of the proceeds from the "We Pray For Japan" bracelets she sold to raise money for those affected by the earthquake in Japan. According to Business Insider, a business news website, the pop star is the subject of a new class action lawsuit filed on Saturday; court papers allege that she inflated the shipping charges for the bracelets as well as kept some of the $5 that she charged for each bracelet.

When the suit was filed against Gaga (real name: Stefani Germanotta) on Saturday, she was performing as a part of MTV Music Video Aid Japan Show in Chiba City. All proceeds from the event benefitted the Japanese Red Cross.

PHOTOS: Gaga's amazing body transformation

"The recent events here really affected me, not just because I have so many fans in Japan, but because it's hard to watch a country struggle," she told Us Weekly on Saturday. "But I can't let myself cry -- I have to be strong because [everyone in Japan] has been so strong. No one gave up for a second."

The law firm behind the class-action lawsuit has yet to disclose where or how it obtained the information about the alleged scam.
