It looks like someone’s putting stock in those rumors about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt: Jolie’s father.
Jon Voight, the estranged father of the “Alexander” actress, reportedly confronted Pitt at an Oscar party about the largely discredited rumors. “We really need to sit down and talk about everything,” Voight told Pitt at the Night Before Party at the Beverly Hills Hotel, reports US in an upcoming issue.
Pitt reportedly didn’t engage in a heart-to-heart with his “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” co-star’s dad. “A lot of the stuff that was said was not true,” an “uncomfortable looking” Pitt told Voight, according to US, which also reports that Pitt then told Voight to call his manager if he wanted to continue the conversation. They then shook hands and parted ways.
Spokeswomen for the stars didn’t return calls, but one source who knows Jolie told The Scoop, “Jon Voight would be the last person to know what’s going on with Angelina.”
Malfunction junction
“No. I felt double-crossed,” Moonves said when Playboy magazine asked if he bought Jackson’s excuse. “She knew what she was doing. I don’t think this was an accident in any way.”
The episode led to a Federal Communications Commission crackdown on lewdness on television, and has caused some networks to censor themselves — excessively, in Moonves’ opinion.
“The FCC’s decision not to exonerate in advance the people who were going to show ‘Saving Private Ryan’ is patently absurd,” he told the April issue of the mag. “The movie is about D-Day and, yes, thousands of Americans lost their lives. People use four-letter words. My guess is that a solider being shot at by Nazis is not saying ‘Oh my goodness.’ . . . People are living in fear. It’s a dangerous precedent.”
